Is Saysay free?

Yes. We're still early and figuring a lot of things out, but making people pay to read news isn't something we're interested in. We might add paid features down the line, but reading the news won't be one of them.

How is this different from just reading the news on Facebook?

We try to give you more of what you want to know about in less time. Facebook wants you to stay longer. We'd rather you leave informed. Same story from five outlets? You see it once, not five times between a recipe video and a skincare ad.

Question 3

How does Saysay decide what to show me?

Accepted Answer

We go through a lot of news sources as often as we can and pick out what's worth your time. Where you are is one factor, but not the only one. Every source is linked. You never have to take our word for it.

Question 4

Is my data private?

Accepted Answer

We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers. What you read is your business. Our privacy policy is short enough that you might actually read it.

Can I add a story or report something happening near me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Takes about 30 seconds from the app. If you want to share something bigger, or even just talk to us about what we're building, we'd like that. We're small enough that real people answer.

Question 6

Does this cover my area? Can I add my news source?

Accepted Answer

Honestly, it depends. We're strongest in Metro Manila and larger cities right now. If your area isn't well covered yet, tell us. If you publish news or run a local outlet, we'd like to add you. Part of why we built Saysay is to help stories reach the people they were written for.

Does Saysay use AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AI is baked into a lot of what we do, and we intend to use it in more ways if we think it'll improve how we serve you the news. We hold ourselves to getting it right. The reporting is human.
